Avalanche Preserve Recreation Area Trails

The 300 plus acre Avalanche Preserve is mostly wooded with hilly terrain. The recreation area is used for hiking, biking, skiing, skating, jogging, and snowmobiling. The trails are not groomed in the winter. The preserve also has an archery range and disc golf course.

Although the preserve has largely slopping terrain, there is a range in trail difficulty from flat terrain to steep inclines. There are 462 steps to the top of Avalanche with a platform available to view the City and Lake Charlevoix. There are benches along the way.
