Houdek Dunes Natural Area

From the trail at Houdek Dunes you can see active blowout dunes, woodland pockets sheltering giant white birch trees, and mature forested backdunes. The trails have moderate terrain with sandy trails and slopes. There is an informational kiosk and stairs at the trailhead, a bench at the ancient maple tree, and a deck overlooking Houdek Creek. The creek flows along the natural area's southeast boundary and is the primary tributary of North Lake Leelanau.
