Upper Herring Lake Nature Preserve
A two-track trail passes through open fields and leads to a boardwalk that goes through marsh and extends out to several ponds. The trail is part of a 180 acre preserve that consists of wetland, historic marl pits, open field, and 2800 feet of frontage on Upper Herring Lake. The property is owned and managed by the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy.
